Hello,

We are seeking award sponsors for a Black Heritage Day Celebration with the Banning Cultural Alliance. The event will be held on Saturday February 21, at the Woman’s Club Building, 175 W Hays. Please pass this along to anyone that may be interested in helping.

As a part of the celebration three contests for various aged youth will take place; with four youth placements: K-1, 2-4, 5-8, 9-12. There will be a: Poetry Contest, an Art Poster contest, and an essay Contest. We need your help with your generous donation for prizes. You may sponsor a prize from the list or chose your own. Cash awards would also be appreciated or you may consider a US Savings Bond.

Some youth suggested donated prizes include:

I Pods or MP3 Player

Gift cards : including for food or meals, book stores, Kmart, Wal*mart many youth want to take their family to dinner

Guitar hero $48 at Big Lots and elsewhere

Electronic games

Books for various ages on Misc. subjects including Black History & Poetry,

Entry to a museums for the entire family or four people.

Guitar with included CD lessons (available Fender Jr. guitar, $69 at big lots)

Digital Cameras

Music Compact disks or gift certificates

DVDs or video store gift cards

Theater Tickets

CPU (s) for grand prize

Art supplies

Clothing Gift certificates

Bikes, skates, helmets

Any and all donations will be appreciated for our local youth and their efforts. If enough prizes our donated their will appreciation awards, as well as placement awards.
